Mission Statement

Our goal is to provide a quality English courses, for international and local students.

Location and Facilities

The ETC campus is in the centre of Palmerston North city, near to the Public Library, Art Gallery, Science Museum, shops, restaurants and bus station. The campus is in a spacious building with views of the city gardens. Students have their own lounge, kitchen, self-study room and free access to the internet.

Academic Programme

• Academic English - IELTS option - For students who intend to study at university or other tertiary institutions.
• Intermediate to Advanced English
• English for Medical Professionals (OET) Occupational English Test
• General English - Full-time or part-time classes are available for General English.
• Elementary to Intermediate
• English in the Workplace - For students who want to live or work in an English-speaking environment.
• Computing Skills Course - Develop your computer skills for entry to university or employment.
• Intensive English for one or two students (ask for details).

English Language Support

Each class has a average of 12 students. ETC has professional, ESOL trained native English tutors. Our tutors are helpful and kind so students can come and see them individually after the class. ETC has a collection of books, videos, and cassettes which students may borrow to improve their English.

Further Study Options

We will arrange for students to sit the IELTS exam and assist students to enrol at any New Zealand university, polytechnic or secondary school.

Student Welfare / Support

We provide intensive student support, helping international students find accommodation and join sports clubs and cultural groups. Our teachers are friendly, giving you individual attention and support.

Accommodation

ETC can arrange homestay accommodation for each student. A student will have her/his own room, staying with a New Zealand family. The student is not only improving her/his English ability but can also learn about New Zealand family life. ETC can arrange flatting or hostel accommodation.

Extra-Curricular Activities

We arrange weekend bus trips, sporting and cultural activities.
